First off, welcome to "Remember Newspapers?" ! I look forward to taking this online journey with all of you.
For my research project I have decided to go with what I know, blogging.
Blogging is my hobby, as well as a big part of my life and my future career. Blogging is not just about writing. It is about keeping things interesting, building networks and promoting yourself.
New media has created a new world and changed the way we live. So when given the opportunity to further research and discuss how New media affects my life, how could I say no? Therefor, I plan to take a deeper look into how I use New Media. In addition to the blog itself, I will discuss how I incorporate twitter, Facebook, Stumbleupon, Google Reader, blog networking sites, etc.
Peace and Love,
D
That sounds like a great paper topic and I would definitely agree that new media has changed the way we live. What kind of things do you usually blog about and do you have any pointers for a beginner like myself?
ReplyDeleteMainly I write about whatever I feel like. I cover my own life, politics, pop culture, everything and anything. I used to try and tailor it to a specific genre but I noticed the best results when I just threw everything in there.
ReplyDeleteThe best advice i can give is keep writing. Even if you think no one is reading. I started from 0 followers and it took me 9 months to get the 124 followers I have today and the viewership. If you are looking to actually promote your blog then I would say use and abuse Twitter and join blogging networks like bloggers.com or 20sb.net .
I agree on the fact that new media has changed the way we live. Not only blogs can be seen as a hobby, it can bring out the creative side of you. And its one of the best ways to voice your opinions. Great topic.
